Song, lyrics and a smiling heart

Thursday the 21st of June 2018. Athens, 21.30 in the night. Listening to “Whole Lotta Love” by Led Zeppelin, while waiting on skype to be examined orally by Robert Kohlenberg. It is the last thing that needs to be done in order to be certified as a trainer in Functional Analytic Psychotherapy (FAP).

Filed with expectations, nervousness, anticipation and joy I see that it is 22.00. The video call is about to start with a click on the camera icon.

The time of the exam is a powerful discussion which is like fresh water running from a fountain. Robert Kohlenberg (aka Bob) interacts so naturally with me and we both quench each other’s mental thirst. After one hour of a unique exchange, Bob congratulates me and announces that I am a FAP trainer.

His words produce music in my ears. I let myself absorb his melodic reinforcement. I let my heart laugh.

It is time to throw a party not only for another achievement, but most of all to celebrate the faith in myself and the faith I receive from the FAP community. The celebration started that day by the loving words of friends and colleagues from all over the world, who joined me at that moment of happiness. Their trust and their love composed a beautiful song.

Thursday the 21st of June 2018. World Music Day. I remember that day as my Personal Music Day. Holding a microphone I sing the track “My smiling Heart”. I am so grateful for all the wonderful people in my life who keep writing the lyrics.
